Welcome to Run Ricky Run

Welcome to my new website, that is totally dedicated to raising funds to support children affected by cancer.

Run Ricky Run provides a direct link between your willingness to donate money to a fantastic cause and my ability to make runs for Australia. All you need to do is tell me how much you’re willing to donate for every run I score in the 2009 Ashes Test series.

For example, if you think I’ll have a great Test series (and I certainly hope I do!!) then you might want to donate 25 cents for every run I score. If I score 500 runs in the five Test series (that’s an average of 50 runs in every one of the 10 innings possible in the five Test series), your donation would be $125, payable when the series is completed. You can also make a fixed donation if you don’t want to rely on how many runs I score.

Every run I score in the Ashes Tests will trigger a donation from the Foundation to one of its beneficiary charities and 100% of the proceeds raised will be distributed to beneficiaries. So you can see that there’s a fair bit riding on me getting runs in England, which I wouldn’t have any other way.

Please give as generously as you can and join me to make a real difference in the fight against childhood cancer.

Thanks for your support,

Ricky Ponting

Help us to make some runs
To support my fight against childhood cancer click on the Donate button below and have your credit card ready.

You can make a fixed donation or link your donation to the number of runs I score.

All donations of $2 and over are tax deductable for Australian residents, so make sure you include your email address to receive a tax receipt.

Note that all 'per run' donations will be based on the number of runs made in the entire 2009 Ashes Tests Series, even if a donation is made mid-series.

Ricky Ponting: Had a really good day today. Training was sharp and we had Mark Webber join us for the day. He filmed a segment for the BBC and the boys really enjoyed having him around. its always great to have guys like Mark around the team.

Ricky Ponting: Have woken up early this morning and am getting ready for our last day against Sussex today. The boys have shown some good form through this game and I was also really happy with my own knock yesterday. None of us want a long day in the field today so expect to see our bowlers giving an extra 20% right through the day.

Ricky Ponting: Only got 8 today after hitting two back foot cover drives and then being caught behind after I knicked an inside edge. A lot of positives came out of the day especially down in the order. Our bowlers are ready for a big day tomorrow.
